McLaughlin drops 400-meter hurdles time to 54.03

By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor

Olympian Sydney McLaughlin is making her final weeks in a Union Catholic uniform count.

On Friday, she broke her own World U-20 and U.S. high school national record in the 400-meter hurdles by running 54.03 seconds.

That time puts her at No. 3 in the world this year only, behind only the top two finishers at the Prefontaine Classic last weekend -- Ashley Spencer and Shamier Little

Later in the meet, McLaughlin also ran US#1 times in the 200 (22.96 for a New Jersey record) and 51.88 in the 400.
